Forgotten Greens of Scotland

Kilsyth, Neilston.

Neilston Golf Club.  First mentioned 1907.  A 9-hole course, 6 minutes from Kilsyth New station.

"The new course is situated at the foot of the Kilsyth Hills, and commands a view which is the envy of every golfer who visits it.  The turf is very old and of the finest description, indeed few, if any, inland courses will be found with a finer surface.  The holes are sufficiently long and tricky to test the powers of the average golfer, who will find that to kill the 'Colonel' requires play of the highest standard."   (NGYB 1907)
