Ardgour Golf Course

A Royal Marine manned coast battery was situated on the South side of Corran Point Lighthouse in the parish of Ardgour

Battery Golf Club. First mentioned 1923. "During the past fortnight the three annual championship events of the above club have been decided. In the final of the annual championship Mr A. Grierson beat Mr A. Budge by one hole. In the foursomes event D. and A. Budge defeated A. McColl Jun and R. Grierson by 3 and 2. While in the Ladies singles Miss Grierson beat Mrs Maclean by one hole. 

   At the close of the Ladies championship a meeting was held at the clubhouse – Mr Grierson in the chair when prizes were presented to the various winners. The following office bearers were elected for next year, Hon President, Mr Grierson, President, Miss MacColl, Sect and treasurer, Mr A. Budge" (OT 4.8.1923).
