Whitemoss, Dunning

Whitemoss Golf Club.. An 18-hole course 2 miles west of Dunning and a mile south of Aberuthven, laid out in 1994 on land owned by the Westwood family.

Farmers for many generations, Mr Westwood laid out a golf course, with the help of the greenkeeper at Gleneagles, when agriculture struggled in the 1990’s. The course was nearly 6000 yards long, with a par of 69. Although blessed with beautiful views, particularly of the Ochil Hills, the land was not best suited to golfing use having been farmed for over 100 years and there was strong competition from long-established courses nearby..

The owners retired and the club closed in 2011.
