Baltasound, Unst

Baltasound Golf Course.  First mention 1893. “In connection with the new hotel in Baltasound, Mr Weber has laid out a golf course of six holes on excellent ground.”

   “There are several other places in Shetland where golf can be enjoyed. There is a course at Baltasound, in Unst, and two excellent courses near Cullivoe, in North Yell.” (ST 30.5.1896 and included in an article in the Golfer, 20 5.1896, on  golf in Shetland.)
