Isle Of Coll.

Coll - Cliad

Cliad Golf Course. The formation of a new nine-hole golf course has been commenced at Cliad, in the island of Coll. When completed the course will be 2800 yards in length. Fine natural bunkers are already formed by the numerous sandhills, and two very sporting short holes are included. The houses in Arinangour are to be reconditioned and brought up-to-date. The contract has been secured by Messrs Munn, of Oban, and work will commence immediately. It will give employement to a number of men." (S 31.3.1934)

The course fell into disuse with the onset of WW2

Harry Ward is a respected golf historian known for his detailed research into the origins and development of the game, particularly in Scotland.
